Ingredients

  • 12 large strawberries
  • 12 ounces orange candy melts
  • ½ teaspoon coconut oil or shortening, optional

Instructions

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Place the candy melts and oil (or shortening if using) in a microwave safe container and melt according to the package directions.
  • Gently pull back the leaves of the strawberries and dip each strawberry into the candy melts trying to cover up as much of the strawberry as possible. Gently tap off any excess candy and place the dipped strawberry on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining strawberries.
  • Once all of the strawberries have been dipped, transfer the leftover orange candy melts into a piping bag or ziploc bag. Make a small cut at the end of the bag and pipe horizontal lines over each strawberry.
  • Allow the strawberries to set up fully before serving. Serve on a plate or platter with crushed Oreos to look like dirt.

Notes

Storage Information: These treats are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. I do not recommend freezing.
