Cookies and Cream Cutout Cookies

A must-try dessert recipe for St. Patrick's! This dessert idea starts with chocolate sandwich cookies. Decorated with green buttercream, these Cookies and Cream Cutout Cookies are fun and delicious!

Make the Cookies

Add chocolate sandwich cookies to a large ziplock type bag and crush (with a rolling pin) until crumbs.

Add crumbs into a large bowl with flour. Add baking powder and salt and set aside.

Blend cold butter until smooth. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla until fully incorporated.

Add the flour/crumb mixture and blend until all ingredients are combined.

Bake cookies until the top surface is no longer looks moist.

Remove dough and roll out on a lightly floured work surface. Cut out desired shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Chill the entire baking sheet of cookies while preheating the oven.

Prepare the Frosting

In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter until smooth. Add cream cheese and continue to blend until smooth.

Add powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla and continue to blend

Add another cup of sugar and mix until smooth and fluffy. Add food coloring as desired.
