{Almost too easy} Chocolate Mousse
Last week my husband and I had our beloved hour and a half of kid-free time that comes every Thursday, thanks to church youth group. The plan was to order a pizza (we had already fed the girls a healthy dinner) and watch an episode of Monk on DVD. I really wanted a chocolate treat as well so I whipped up some yummy chocolate mouse. Pizza, a movie, and a chocolate dessert… ahh the joys of being an “old” married couple.
(P.S. I took these photos the next day)
I think these would look so beautiful all lined up on a dessert table. Add a small spoon (like these cute wooden ones from Garnish) and some pretty ribbon and you have a beautiful individual treat.
Now all you need is the recipe…
Here you go…
That’s right… buy the box, add milk, mix… done!
I apologize to those of you a bit disappointed in me! I do truly love cooking from scratch. But every now and then I like to have a box of something on hand for super quick treats. I have no big preference for this brand over any other (although this was very good), it just happened to be what I grabbed at the store recently. So there you have it… is my reputation ruined in your mind? Or maybe you like me better than ever! =)
Happy mixing!

personally… i like you better than ever
Life gets busy…it's nice to have a box to mix up quickly!!! Looks delish too. Love the added touch of the spoon and ribbon
I use many of Betty's awesome recipes in a box/package…..never knew she has Chocolate Mousse'. I have to pick some up:) thanks for sharing..!
I would never thought it came from a box!
I love the cute wooden spoons and the ribbons! It made the mousse look even more special.
Yum! I love the cute little wooden spoons and ribbon!
yet another simple party idea that will make me look like I know what I am doing. Thanks so much. Your blog is a fav.
This was a great idea! So cute. FYI…like you better than ever, your blog is one of my favs.
Love it! simple and delish – I'm going to try it. =)
These are just so gorgeous! I love your presentation a lot
All I know is…It looks delicious! Your reputation remains intact!
I'm so excited to try and make this! I love mousse and I love making anything that comes easily in a box!
I didn't know they had chocolate mousse in a box. They look great. Thanks for sharing!
What adorable little desserts! Love the little spoon added to the cup! Great idea!
It's going to take a lot more than a mousse mix to ruin your rep. Thanks for sharing… can't wait to make it for a guest.
What a nice and easy way to enjoy some time with hubby. Great job!
I looks super yum and easy is my style of baking!
I see no problem with boxed mixes every so often, especially when your time is valuable. What would you rather do – spend all your time making mousse from scratch, or mix and serve and spend the rest of the time relaxing? I know what I'd pick.
EVERYTHING is so nice that you do..Love the idea of boxed mixes when you need something fast.
Ha! I love your humanness! I will have to try this because I LOVE chocolate mousse, but I don't like to make it from scratch. Thanks for the idea!
Love you,
Cecilia
I love it when you're being funny! YOu are my hero!
Proof: Presentation is EVERYTHING!
I have never seen this package of chocolate mousse but I'm gonna search for it. Thanks for sharing.
Plan B

The great thing about a treats like this is if you already have a rep for doing wonderful things from scratch, when you throw in the occasionasional box now and again doctor it up a bit and add the right presentation, no one knows the difference!
Yep, I like you even better. J/K your my sister…I love you no matter what. Of course it is nice to see how to present a quick mix thing in such a fancy way.
What do you call and where did you get the little glasses you have the chocolate mousse in?
Glasses question- The glasses the mousse is in are small drinking glasses I bought at my local grocery store. I've been looking for a while for something small, but not as small as a shot glass.
If only I had half the talent you have….. what a glorious life I will have. this is beautiful and I like you better
I could not find the mix at my grocery. Did anyone else have issues finding it or if you found it what store. I checked Target and Kroger.
